Your "points" in the OP has already been covered, but I'll add a bit more coz I'm bored. Originally by: Jimmy Phelan But for every one person that doesn't mine, there are a dozen* that do. Otherwise there wouldn't be any materials to replace all those combat losses.
Why does that mean you have to mine? .. I've played for more than a year now, and I think I've mined for max 6 hours total. I hate it, so I simply don't do it. Originally by: Jimmy Phelan I was using "housing" in a general sense. I was referring specifically to player-owned stations and the like.
Those stations are not owned by a player, they're owned by players. You're not supposed to get one of those for yourself, but you can be the "main guy" pulling all the tricks to make it so that your corp / alliance gets to own a PCS, IF you work hard. Like, really hard. Too much work tbh :P
You can however get offices at NPC stations (corp hangars rule) for as little as 10k / month. Originally by: Jimmy Phelan
Quote: If you want to powerplay, maybe. But as has been said in many threads, EVE is not a powergamers' game, anyway. But yeah, a 2nd account would help getting most out of EVE.
*nod* That's pretty much what I'd gathered. If I stuck around, I know I'd have be signing up for a second account soon enough.
Well, that's your own choice then. I've, as I already stated, played for over a year, and that without a 2nd account. Sure, my time in EVE would be easier if I had a 2nd acc, and I'm defo tempted by the ^2 offer, but I can have fun / be succesful just fine without one.

You list this as a negative? That's the beauty of this game.
It's not a negative so long as it isn't the be-all, end-all of player interaction. It'd be nice to find people that you can trust and work with at least half the time.
Meh. Never been a problem to me. Sure, I've been scammed a couple of times, but no corp mate has ever stolen from me. Most people are actually very trustworthy, even people you don't know. Originally by: Jimmy Phelan
Quote: I CAN'T WAIT FOR AN ALL-OUT WAR!!! It's a wet dream come true.
*chuckles* Exactly.
You don't have to join in on the war if you don't want to afaik.
